Blood shot eyes concealing pain,
deep as black holes – avoidance
leaves him clinging to pupil linings
hoping to not be pulled in…

Bottle bottoms find understanding,
lathery alcoholic wisdom unachievable
by flesh unless ingested – dreams
pissed away at a moments notice…

Razor blades nestled beneath sharp tongues
make abbreviated conversations hurried,
buried beneath fragile desires to indulge
criminality, the evolution of violence is normalcy…

She suckles his mouth, eagerly awaiting
next words, her attention dangling from
each participle, clinging, patient, expecting
clarity, knowing this he leaves her hanging like slaves…

Potent, petite, appetite engorged like pregnant
breast, life milk plentiful as guilt felt
post-abortion, him planning, unknowing,
she feeling relieved, except for having to say…

Incomplete, attempted murder-ish, needing to
add halves in order to make wholes, turn
likes to loves in eye blinks, exposing armor
chinks similar to that of meaningful “hello’s”
posed as ways to open souls…
