Soul Ties II
The Step After the Last
I decided to be honest in my marriage...
These are the last words I said to my wife before
seeing her cry for the final time, "As the only woman
who matters, you need to know, lately we’ve been
making love twice as much because being
inside you feels better than breathing,
however, I’ve only indulged the physical in an effort
to replace the lack of mental, stimulation..."
She accepted my words, filed for divorce yesterday.
Now she wants to change her last name again, return
to the woman whom she used to be.
Unfortunately, ever since then, I've been wishing,
she said she’d stay…

"lately we’ve been making love twice as much because being inside you feels better than breathing,"
WOW! Love the dichotomous piece! R. Kelly just tells a woman that she reminds him of his jeep and Marques Houston tells his woman that sex with her is like a closet full of Air Force Ones in his size. I think I like your analysis better B. Wonder if the wife would trade being able to hold your attention sexually, for the ability to hold your attention intellectually?
has to be one of the best lines...being inside of you is better than breathing.
layered with pleasure and sadness.
Good piece. I guess honesty isn't always the best policy, especially when it leaves one filled with regrets.
well done, luv. great piece.

We are all guilty at some point in life for emphasizing one element of life to compensate for what is lost instead of looking for the balance and accepting everything that has happened. Bravo to such a wonderful piece.
