The Reflection
Overwhelming...
I didn't realize your beauty until
I looked into the mirror and saw it in my eyes,
I didn't realize your sincerity until
I listened to myself repeating your words,
I didn't realize your sex appeal until
I smelled your perfume on "my" shirt in "our" closet,
I didn't realize the meaning of friendship until
I had to share it with him,
I didn't realize how much you loved me until
you told me you called out my name while he
was inside of you.
I didn't realize how much I missed you until
I attended your funeral, standing there crying,
I wished your husband had handled it better...
I didn't realize your beauty until
I looked into the mirror and saw it in my eyes,
I didn't realize your sincerity until
I listened to myself repeating your words,
I didn't realize your sex appeal until
I smelled your perfume on "my" shirt in "our" closet,
I didn't realize the meaning of friendship until
I had to share it with him,
I didn't realize how much you loved me until
you told me you called out my name while he
was inside of you.
I didn't realize how much I missed you until
I attended your funeral, standing there crying,
I wished your husband had handled it better...
I like surprise endings...
@ dance, really, I love suprise beginnings...
You never know what you got until its gone.
Wow!
This is really saying things to me for reasons I care not to share, but all I can say is DAMN! DEEP! I love reading your work. It has an interesting tendency of grabbing the reader by collar and getting all up in their face! Some times with a mirror, others with a challenge to think, but never without a strong result.
Thanks for the read.
Ok...well I suspect that you'll be surprising me by the second line next time.
i'm with isha on this one... WOW! & i gotta second mis understood since it is indeed true that no one truly misses what they had until it's no longer a part of their day-to-day existence. this is some classic slump facade ish. well done, poet!
Peacez...
Well damn. Surprised me again. It wouldnt be you without a surprise ending. I really enjoyed this piece...with your morbid ass :)
@ Slump
Why did I know you and Bigger knew each other? I was like, "hmmm this guy sounds like Slump" :)
Bringing your freaky friends to my blog, I told you I dont get down like that :)
"I didn't realize your beauty until
I looked into the mirror and saw it in my eyes,
I didn't realize your sincerity until
I listened to myself repeating your words..."
this is truly passionate and revealing. reads like it started out one way then turned another way though? in case you didnt know it, i love it when you're thoughtfully pensive mr. facade...
deep.
well written! I just hope this didn't happen in real life!!!
i like this, hindsight is somethin' ain't it?
hell naw...the husband part surprised me.
your a fool!!
LMAO!!! Just like you...I knew this was going somewhere, just had to be patient to find out where. I really enjoyed this one but you know I am biased towards all your stuff. Good job man, don't get anyone else killed in the meantime LOL!!
Can't wait for your published work...
